July 11 - July 15 Recording Our World
During the week, writers focus on observation and noticing the details. They will learn to describe ordinary things in extraordinary ways by integrating craft into their writing. In addition, writers focus on that which they are passionate and know a lot about. They will learn to develop literary non-fiction pieces that integrate facts in creative and engaging ways.
Emphasis on: Idea generation, observation, word choice, specificity, writing information in interesting and creative ways, and organization and exploring genre.
Session 1: 10am – 12pm (Entering 2nd & 3rd Grade)
Session 2: 1pm – 3pm (Entering 4th & 5th Grade & Alumni)
$275 per session (all materials and snacks included). Ask about discounts for siblings.
Each weekly writing group consists of a maximum of 10 writers, so space is limited.
